The SULF BT® treatment uses electrolysis in a molten salt bath to deposit an iron sulfide layer on steel alloy components. This layer improves galling resistance and promotes the adhesion of lubricating films, providing excellent self-lubricating properties.
Surface treatment parameters:
- Application temperature: 190 °C ± 5 °C
Notes:
- Particularly suitable for heat-treated steels with low-temperature tempering
- Not recommended for steels with a chromium content higher than 12%
Typical applications:
- Case-hardened or surface-hardened gears – Camshafts – Cylinder liners – Ball joints – Dowels – Differential planetary gears – Differential spider gears – Cardan shafts – Shafts and bearings – Transmission forks – Transmission spacer rings
