This surface treatment protects copper alloy components against wear and galling. The process is carried out through an electrolytic deposition of tin, applied after a diffusion treatment at 400 °C.
Main characteristics:
- Greater surface hardness
- Increased load capacity for lubricating films
- Reduced friction coefficient during lubricated operation
- Excellent abrasion resistance
Applicable materials:
- Bronze
- Brass
- Aluminum bronze
- Aluminum and nickel alloys
Representative applications:
- Screws and nuts for fittings – Bushings – Worm wheels – Spherical plugs – Support plates – Pump housings – Transmission synchronizers – Guide sleeves – Gear shift forks – Check valves – Ring-type joints – Machine tool blanks – Locating bearings – Connecting rods and associated components – Valve guides
